Dean took over the reins at Hurlstone in 2004 and has led the company through an unprecedented period of growth and diversification. With astute business acumen, Dean has continued to develop the Hurlstone Group into one of the largest contracting entities currently in operation in New Zealand.
Stephen Delaney - General Manager

Stephen has extensive management skills in Civil Engineering and Construction, gained through his 22 years of industry experience. His practical knowledge and expertise, combined with strong management and leadership, enables Stephen to oversee the company's many demanding construction projects. Stephen is responsible for overall company performance, including overseeing and managing company operations, staffing and statutory obligations. Originally from Otago, Stephen moved to Auckland in 1999 with his previous employer before joining the Hurlstone team in September, 2004.
Peter Ensor - Contracts / Operations Manager, Auckland Region

Peter has worked in varying roles in civil construction throughout New Zealand and the UK for the past ten years. Construction projects include Airports, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Piling, Drainage, Gas Pipelines, Earthworks and Roading. Recent project-based roles include: Manager of the Earthworks and Major Drainage at the SH20 Mt Roskill Motorway Extension which was an excellent introduction to Alliancing and an exciting challenge; Manager of the Westfield to Southdown Gas Pipeline in Mt Wellington. As Contracts/Operations Manager Peter is involved in the day to day management of all project staff in the Northrn region, along with the extensive plant fleet. He is also a key member of the estimating team, and takes great pride in meeting and exceeding clients' expectations. A keen rugby and cricket fan, Peter is often seen cheering on his favourite team at live sporting events.
Ian George - Manager, Southern Region
Ian has been involved in the civil construction, earthworks, roading, gas pipeline and rail maintenance industries for more than 30 years throughout New Zealand in various roles ranging from on hand pipeline installation to senior management. Ian has a broad knowledge base across these industries and extensive experience in earthworks and site development management. Ian has vast experience working on specialized projects involving high rail excavators and rail deviations throughout New Zealand. He has worked in many roles including operator, foreman, site supervisor, company director for his own to company to the position he holds today as Manager of the Southern Region of Hurlstone Earthmoving. Outside work, Ian is keen fisherman and motor sport fan and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter on their Egmont Village farm.
John Hayes - Manager (Hayes Earthmoving Services)

John has been working in the earthworks industry for over 40 years. His knowledge of machinery and materials is extensive, taken from his multiple role experiences as operator, manager and company owner. John has undertaken a variety of engineering contracts, including a number of tunneling operations for rail, major highway realignments, forestry, wind farm and hydro contracts. John is responsible for overall company performance including overseeing and managing company operations, staffing and statutory obligations. When away from work Johns passions are motor sport, vintage machinery restoration and the company of his wife Cushla on their Wanganui farm.
Michelle O'Donohue - HR Manager/Administration Manager

Michelle joined Hurlstones in 2008 and has over 10 years experience within the civil construction industry. During this time she has been responsible for the implementation, management, and review of a range of business functions including: Quality management systems; Employment Relations; Health and Safety; Injury Management; Environment; and Employee Development. Michelle's role is focused on the continual progression of the business' systems and mitigation of operational risk. Michelle enjoys a challenge and is regularly evaluating the company's business systems looking for opportunities for improvement.
Gregory White - Contracts Engineer (Hayes Earthmoving Services)

Greg has contract management skills gleaned from 18 years industry experience. His practical knowledge of civil engineering contracts has included earthworks, pavement rehabilitation, sealing, paving concrete construction, airport works, civil structural works and drainage. Greg is responsible for contract operations, staffing and statutory obligations on projects in the lower North Island Originally from Southland, Greg has worked in Southland, Otago, Waikato and Wanganui for his previous employer Fulton Hogan and moved to Wanganui in 2007. Greg joined Hayes Earthmoving in January 2008. When away from work Greg is a competitive shooter and keen hunter and enjoys Wanganui life with his wife and his two young sons.
