Managing Director Dean Hurlstone recently commissioned the purchase of a new Kenworth T908.

This truck is the first of the new model in Australasia and has been upspec'd to the highest standards to commemorate the late Teresa Hurlstone, wife of founder Bill Hurlstone.

Mrs Hurlstone was an important part of the establishment and running of the Hurlstone business. Special features of the truck include the artwork tribute to Mrs Hurlstone on the side of the cab.

The T908 is fitted with Cat C15 with ACERT technology rated at 625hp and 2050lbft and comes standard with a Cat brake saver that offers 600hp retardation and is 50% quieter than a Jacobs brake. Twin turbos operate 20% slower giving longer life and better reliability. Multiple injection and variable valve actuation contribute to a 60% longer service interval also.

The truck, which will be based primarily in Auckland, will be used to transport equipment over most parts of the North Island.

This is truly a fantastic truck and a fitting tribute to Teresa and the company that will celebrate 40 years in business in September next year.
