Hurlstone Earthmoving Ltd

Hurlstones have completed operations for the Hauraki District Council at their Tetleys Quarry site at Waitakaruru. The contract was a Quarry Stripping project that started in July, 2008 and was completed in November 2008.

The Mt Roskill SH20 Motorway Extension is a key part of the Western Ring Route. Once completed, the Western Ring Route will provide an alternative to State Highway 1 (SH1) between Manukau City and Albany via State Highway 20, State Highway 16 and State Highway 18.

The Kai Iwi Tunnel Bypass project is located just west of Wanganui on the Martin-New Plymouth Rail line at the 52km peg. This site is accessed via private property from S.H.3. The contract between Ontrack and Hurlstone Earthmoving had a 22 week completion time-fame and has been completed on time. The project has eliminated the Kai Iwi Tunnel and opens the way for trains in and out of Taranaki to carry the larger 2.9m Hi-Cube containers.

Hurlstones’ has recently undertaken a Quarry Stripping Program by running 2 Earthworks crews for Perry Aggregates at their Waingaro Rd Quarry, Ngaruawahia and their Te Henga Quarry in Waitakere, Auckland. The Waingaro Rd quarry produces 35% of all aggregates for the Waikato region and has been in operation for over 30 years.
